Bio: Kiana is an American combined event athlete whose career reflects exceptional versatility, perseverance, and continued progression. She began her collegiate career as a standout jumper, excelling in both the high jump and triple jump at Washington State.
Following a traumatic brain injury in 2018 that interrupted her professional career and required extensive rehabilitation, Kiana made a remarkable return to elite competition. She progressed from relearning fundamental movements to reaching the long jump final at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials, ultimately surpassing the performances she had achieved before her injury.
Kiana has since expanded her athletic range by transitioning into the heptathlon with a 5827 points personal best in 2025. Following surgery to treat medical complications related to her 2018 TBI, she returned to training and competition in 2026 and moved to North Carolina to train with a new coach at Duke University where she serves as an Assistant Coach. Her evolution from an elite jumper into an elite heptathlete amidst rehabilitation and medical complications from a brain injury highlights her adaptability, resilience, and determination to continue reaching new levels in the sport.
