Bio: Leroy is a Canadian 800m runner from Scarborough, Ontario, whose collegiate career at the University of Arkansas and Iowa State University established a strong foundation for his continued development. In 2022, he finished 5th in the 800m at the SEC Outdoor Championships in 1:47.39. The following year, he improved to 1:47.31 indoors and earned First Team All-America honors as the 800m leg of Arkansas’s seventh-place distance medley relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships. At Iowa State, he added a Big 12 indoor silver medal in the distance medley relay in 2025.

A NACAC U23 bronze medalist with Canada’s 4x400m relay team, Russell has continued to build on that experience, lowering his outdoor 800m personal best to 1:46.66 in 2026. Now training in Starkville, Mississippi, alongside fellow Canadian and 800m National Record Holder Marco Arop, he is focused on translating his collegiate experience and improving performances into success on the international circuit. His progression provides a promising foundation as he prepares to take on increasingly competitive international fields in the coming years.
